Seven year old Ludya picked up one of our story books and immediately, flawlessly, and fluently read through the book!  She had never seen the book before!  I was surprised indeed, because, when children go to schools - if they get to go - all instruction is in French, and not in Kreyol.  Somewhere, somehow, Ludya received some instruction to read in her native language, on our mountain! What do you think? Otherwise, she has an innate ability to decode text.
